Mobile RPGs you can actually finish
There's a quiet frustration in starting a mobile RPG and realizing the real game only begins thirty hours in. We've been there, and lately we've gravitated toward shorter RPGs that respect a commuter's schedule.
Ember of Vael is our current favorite in this category. It tells a complete story in a reasonable span and never leans on grinding to pad things out. You can sense the designers chose a length and stuck to it.
What makes these games work is tight encounter design. When every battle is hand-placed rather than random, fifteen hours feels full instead of thin. We'd rather fight twenty meaningful fights than two hundred filler ones.
If you've been avoiding the genre because of time, start small. A shorter RPG that you finish beats a sprawling one that sits abandoned on your home screen.
