About
Pocket Playbook started as a group chat where a few of us kept swapping screenshots and arguing about which games were worth the storage space. At some point we figured we might as well write it all down in one place instead of losing it in message history.
Every game we cover gets played by hand. We don't skim trailers and call it a review. Someone on the team installs the thing, pushes through the early hours, and takes notes on controls, pacing, and the moments that made us put the phone down in frustration or keep playing past bedtime.
We pick titles from a mix of sources: reader suggestions, charts we browse, and random finds from late-night scrolling. Genre doesn't matter much to us, as long as the game has something interesting to say about how it plays.
The site stays independent. We fund it ourselves and nobody pays to appear here, which means we can be blunt when a game wastes your time.
